make it or break it.

this past weekend was an either make it or break it kind of weekend.
or at least it was to me.
I was taking my boyfriend and his little girl R camping at the lake with my family.
so happy to say it went really good.
much better than I thought
she was in heaven with her dirt and rocks.

my hunk a lunk and i

how we lived for 3 days. roughing it.

what a little tooth brusher!

and we jumped!
overall it was a great trip. R did great, I think she may be a little camper. the last day she didn't want to leave and said she wanted to live there forever. I could do that, minus a tent and plus a real bed or should I just say get me a hotel and im good!

independence day: half moon bay.

I'm playing a bit of catch up.
for the fourth of July the hunk a lunk and I headed up to nor cal to visit Melissa and her hubby.
great friends, great weather, and no sun burn!

{thank you photogrid}
after a 7 hour car ride we arrived at
half moon bay. which was such a cute little beach community. I wish I had taken pictures of the houses, they looked like little doll houses. they were adorable!
everyone on the beach were roasting hot dogs and having a grand ole time.

via las vegas

gambling is a lot more fun when the security guard isn't chasing you out the door.
(que memory from when I was seventeen)

this trip was far better, (7 years later)
with legal drinks, gambling, dancing and pooling it up.
catching up on gossip

we stayed at the palms, which is a little off the strip.  it was a beautiful hotel, the suite was HUDGE, the most comfortable bed and a Jacuzzi tub!!
next time i would like to stay on the strip and explore a bit more there.
(thunder down under anyone?)

Photo dump: San Diego

just a few pictures from my San Diego get away last weekend.
the view from shelter island, where we stayed.

friendship bell that was given to us from japan. from the side it looked like a penis

then we went to old town. it had many old houses from the early 1800s turned into museums, shops and resturants. tourist rule for americans, be ready for pictures, because those out of country people will come up to you when your mouth is full and put a camera in your face and take a pic. i hope i end up on some magazine with enchilada sauce on my chin!
we had lunch and walked about. then headed back to get ready for the night.

we took the trolley, which is like the metro link, or bart for those of you who do not go. i highly suggest it, if you don't want to drive
the gaslamp, on top of the marriot. free AMAZING view of the game!

the hunk-a-lunk and i.

we found this bar with a band who sang guns and roses, quiet riot, ac dc etc.
i was in heaven!

this is what you get after a night at the gaslamps.
and loud obnoxious hick ups the ENTIRE way back on the trolley.
i definately got a few weird looks.

we found some new friends.

this girl was my favorite.

one of the best weekends ever!
thank you for looking through my photo poop.
Happy Weekend!

lifes a beach

at least that's what it's been for the past 2 weeks.
2 weeks ago i was living on the beach at Lake Mojave with my hunk a lunk.
then last week was living on the beach at lake San Antonio with the fam.
man it was fun, but man am i glad to be home
no more squatting over the toilet, although i think my thighs are more toned.
no more snakes, and no more bugs.

my brother

we camped shortly up this hill. this is the group we were with.

the mom and i. (and boobs)

this is proof that i tent camped. I've grown up camping, and i do love it. but my back does not.
i spent most nights laying flat on the air mattress. i think next year i will need a motor home..hint hint Mr Santa. and i wont be tubing. the inner child yells, "do it!" my body yells "are you crazy?!" i feel like an old lady and I'm only 24.

the last day a storm rolled in, the first after 10 years of going to this lake.
it was beautiful, and didn't stop any fun.

only two more weeks until school starts!
summer has flown too fast!

road trip

after that drive last weekend i was so glad to get out of the car
and hated the thought of getting back in.
driving. driving. and more driving.

avio winery

this is where the ceremony was held, with the rolling hills in the background

the beautiful bride. yes it poured rain, right as the reception was to start. but that didnt stop or dampen (well just the ground, food and our clothes haaahs)
anything. the night was perfect.

and all that driving...so worth it.

a pleasant post card

Meet Melissa
Melissa and I met when we were both freshman in high school
when i was living in Elk Grove, a little town about 15 minutes South of Sacramento
we just clicked, just like peas and carrots (please say this in a Forrest gump accent) (awesome!jenny)

we spent many nights as "ghosts, making up rap songs, and dances to
"hey Mickey" or "i'ma barbie girl"
please note, there is absolutely NOTHING to do in Elk Grove,
especially when you're only 14
(maybe that's everywhere when you're 14)

some lake, my first experience tanning topless

so when we were 15 and a half my family moved back to orange county
melissa and i stayed friends over the years
the picture above is from my first trip to visit
when we were newly 21
we picked up right where we left off.

from my trip up over the summer

all glammed up for girls night out
fake eye lashes and kissy red lips

this is how we do

so monday night when i got home from a long hard day at work heading for a nice glass of wine
i came across this on the refrigerator
save the date post card, a little beat up from the mail
but beautiful

so happy for them,
tory is such a catch, they truly love, and compliment each other in so many ways
cant wait to share the big day with both of them!

where's the charger when you need it?!

Laughlin was AH-MAZING!
unfortunately after the first picture taken on the trip my camera died.
(yay me for forgetting to charge before and not bringing the charger with)
whoopsi daisy
There are so many odd  fun people in the desert.
I will never forget Norm, our forgetful black jack dealer
who does nothing and is damn good at it.
He doesn't know this but, i adopted him as my Gpa
BTW, first time i really tried black jack...
after all is said and done,
and broke my wallet
the free pineapple vodkas were so worth it!
(or that's what i keep telling myself, when I'm eating top ramen for the rest of the week)
