making a decision
last week i went on a new job interview.
I don't hate my job now, but I had a itchling for change,(a Gemini curse)
and wanted sick/vacation hours.
the tiny office im at now (900 sq ft) with pink patient charts for 4000 patients slewed around can be a little overwhelming.
so I went.
it was in a tall sky scraper on the 12th floor near south coast plaza. the windows had such a view.
this office had its own floor, there wasn't a paper out of spot.
when you walked in you can see into the glass conference room with a big white marble table.
it was beautiful.
I met with the women there for the interview. which I didn't think went well but then...
Monday, I got the call. they were offering me the job.
only $2.00 less than I am making now. and would mean driving 18 miles more than I do now...
it would also mean needing a whole new wardrobe and wearing heels..
I turned it down.
Im not sure what I was looking for, and why I didn't consider the distance thing before hand.
I just need to kick that Gemini butt and focus and enjoy the things I do, and do have.
I had a quick meeting with my office manager now, and she said they are going to start "personal" days. (after 5 years, they better!) and informed me on some changes that are coming to the office in the next year. no one else knows of them except the doctor, the office manager and myself, I feel a little honored that I am the 3rd to know.
we shall see whats up.
thank jesus its Friday. I have a busy one this weekend.
roach truck rally, celebrating a friends birthday, bbq in big bear tomorrow, church, movies, softball game, plus mothers day! I need a weekend from the weekend.

Photo dump: San Diego
just a few pictures from my San Diego get away last weekend.
the view from shelter island, where we stayed.
friendship bell that was given to us from japan. from the side it looked like a penis
then we went to old town. it had many old houses from the early 1800s turned into museums, shops and resturants. tourist rule for americans, be ready for pictures, because those out of country people will come up to you when your mouth is full and put a camera in your face and take a pic. i hope i end up on some magazine with enchilada sauce on my chin!
we had lunch and walked about. then headed back to get ready for the night.
we took the trolley, which is like the metro link, or bart for those of you who do not go. i highly suggest it, if you don't want to drive
the gaslamp, on top of the marriot. free AMAZING view of the game!
the hunk-a-lunk and i.
we found this bar with a band who sang guns and roses, quiet riot, ac dc etc.
i was in heaven!
this is what you get after a night at the gaslamps.
and loud obnoxious hick ups the ENTIRE way back on the trolley.
i definately got a few weird looks.
we found some new friends.
this girl was my favorite.
at the:
one of the best weekends ever!
thank you for looking through my photo poop.
Happy Weekend!

turtle man.
today i got to thinking about
my favorite turtle man patient.
he was the sweetest old man. ever since i started working there five years ago
whenever he came into the office he had the biggest smile on his face
which is unusual since most people hate the doctors office. and he knew my name.
he loved us enough to invite the whole office to his ninetieth birthday party at his families house.
he was kind, active as in falling off the latter at 89 years old in trying to clean his gutters
and wise very "with it""
i never got to ask him anything in particular before he passed away a few months ago.
i wish i had.
his obituary said that he was a world war II vet.
to live through that. what a life, what a story!
i wish i had the thought then to sit with him, with a pot of coffee and just listen.
but i was too busy with paperwork, school and everything to just...
when i should, we all should...
.... a little more.

i used an oven
its a rare thing i do, cooking that is.
i have once burned macaroni and cheese. {true story}
thank you pinterest, i am now going to try to cook at least once a week
i used this recipe
![]() |
| pesto basil mozzarella stuffed chicken, corn, left of chickpeas from lunch |
it didn't turn out as pretty as the recipe picture but it was very very appetizing.
i would make it again. {the boyfriend approves too}
next time i would use bread crumbs instead of the almond meal for a foot note.
what a step up from burning mac n cheese!

now and then
this is what hard work and determination will get you..
40 pounds lighter.
at the time i didn't realize i was this unhealthy until i saw the picture on the right.
{this is what too many margaritas and tacos will do to a gal}

| {march 2013 vs. june 2011} |
i did this mainly by eating healthier, more veggies, lean meats, lots of water, cutting out most sweets, i still had ice cream here and there keeping up with my daily vitamins and vitamin b12 (due to a deficiency) and being more active, either hitting the gym, to cleaning the house, i would even just park farther from the store to get a little more walking in.
this was over a span of about two years.
and i feel great!
my goal for this year: tone and work on wearing heels.
not trying to brag, but i am so proud of myself and cant believe Ive come this far!
hope this can be of some inspiration for any of you struggling with the ever so often resolution to loose a few lbs.
if i can do it, you can do it!
