make it or break it.

this past weekend was an either make it or break it kind of weekend.
or at least it was to me.
I was taking my boyfriend and his little girl R camping at the lake with my family.
so happy to say it went really good.
much better than I thought
she was in heaven with her dirt and rocks.

my hunk a lunk and i

how we lived for 3 days. roughing it.

what a little tooth brusher!

and we jumped!
overall it was a great trip. R did great, I think she may be a little camper. the last day she didn't want to leave and said she wanted to live there forever. I could do that, minus a tent and plus a real bed or should I just say get me a hotel and im good!

via las vegas

gambling is a lot more fun when the security guard isn't chasing you out the door.
(que memory from when I was seventeen)

this trip was far better, (7 years later)
with legal drinks, gambling, dancing and pooling it up.
catching up on gossip

we stayed at the palms, which is a little off the strip.  it was a beautiful hotel, the suite was HUDGE, the most comfortable bed and a Jacuzzi tub!!
next time i would like to stay on the strip and explore a bit more there.
(thunder down under anyone?)

I had the honor to be my best friends maid of honor. the speech part was nerve breaking, I stumbled my words, but the only people who could hear me was the bride and groom, so im in the clear.
all together day was perfect despite her small budget and being on a Tuesday night.

in case you were wondering, the rock ive been living under in blog land has been quite comfortable!

Photo dump: San Diego

just a few pictures from my San Diego get away last weekend.
the view from shelter island, where we stayed.

friendship bell that was given to us from japan. from the side it looked like a penis

then we went to old town. it had many old houses from the early 1800s turned into museums, shops and resturants. tourist rule for americans, be ready for pictures, because those out of country people will come up to you when your mouth is full and put a camera in your face and take a pic. i hope i end up on some magazine with enchilada sauce on my chin!
we had lunch and walked about. then headed back to get ready for the night.

we took the trolley, which is like the metro link, or bart for those of you who do not go. i highly suggest it, if you don't want to drive
the gaslamp, on top of the marriot. free AMAZING view of the game!

the hunk-a-lunk and i.

we found this bar with a band who sang guns and roses, quiet riot, ac dc etc.
i was in heaven!

this is what you get after a night at the gaslamps.
and loud obnoxious hick ups the ENTIRE way back on the trolley.
i definately got a few weird looks.

we found some new friends.

this girl was my favorite.

one of the best weekends ever!
thank you for looking through my photo poop.

hands

If I could tell the world just one thing
It would be that we're all OK
And not to worry 'cause worry is wasteful
And useless in times like these
I won't be made useless
I won't be idle with despair
I will gather myself around my faith
For light does the darkness most fear
My hands are small, I know
But they're not yours, they are my own
But they're not yours, they are my own
And I am never broken
Poverty stole your golden shoes
It didn't steal your laughter
And heartache came to visit me
But I knew it wasn't ever after
We'll fight, not out of spite
For someone must stand up for what's right
'Cause where there's a man who has no voice
There ours shall go singing
My hands are small I know
But they're not yours, they are my own
But they're not yours, they are my own
I am never broken
In the end only kindness matters
In the end only kindness matters
I will get down on my knees, and I will pray
I will get down on my knees, and I will pray
I will get down on my knees, and I will pray
My hands are small I know
But they're not yours, they are my own
But they're not yours, they are my own
And I am never broken
My hands are small I know
But they're not yours, they are my own
But they're not yours, they are my own
And I am never broken
We are never broken
We are God's eyes
God's hands
God's mind
We are God's eyes
God's hands
God's heart
We are God's eyes
God's hands
God's eyes
We are God's hands
We are God's hands

this has to be one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. it speaks right to the heart and basis that everyone should follow. in the end only kindness matters. i try to live my life with an open heart, thinking what would He do in this situation or how can i still love this person when they've done so much wrong.. but wasn't He the one to love the tax collectors and prostitutes who everyone else shunned? we all mess up at times, but i know that He is watching over all of us and will never give us too much that we cant handle even when we feel like theres a mountain on our heart, he knows that we will come out of it stronger than ever.
I'm putting all trust in the Lord that He has a plan for me, and all of us, and if we just believe we will be fulfilled and happy.

have a wonderful Friday my lovelies!

as the dictionary says:

e·piph·a·ny

noun, plural -nies.
1.
a sudden, intuitive perception of or insight into the reality or essential meaning of something, usually initiated by some simple, homely, or commonplace occurrence or experience.
2.
a literary work or section of a work presenting, usually symbolically, such a moment of revelation and insight.

when i searched epiphany

i had one last night. everything came at me. BAM. like i could finally see the light of the situation.
i was able to let go, and move on.
my eyes are wide open to what could be.
that what i was in was a not a healthy mind set, thinking all that drama was supposed to be that way.
and i know now.

thanks to my epiphany.
give me an amen!

happy happy friday!
what on your to do list this weekend?
i get to figure out this printer my brother brought home from his job site, that has no disk.
and put the donated lap top my work gave me together!
im so blessed.
plus some coffee, boot poppin', and family time!

i really needed this reminder.

so worth watching.

hope this reminds you to be loving towards everyone..
not just the people who may be pretty on the outside,
 dispite their past, or present,
because thats what Jesus would do.
definately has me re-thinking the way i'm feeling towards my sistuation at this particular moment.
love and heal?

a pleasant post card

Meet Melissa
Melissa and I met when we were both freshman in high school
when i was living in Elk Grove, a little town about 15 minutes South of Sacramento
we just clicked, just like peas and carrots (please say this in a Forrest gump accent) (awesome!jenny)

we spent many nights as "ghosts, making up rap songs, and dances to
"hey Mickey" or "i'ma barbie girl"
please note, there is absolutely NOTHING to do in Elk Grove,
especially when you're only 14
(maybe that's everywhere when you're 14)

some lake, my first experience tanning topless

so when we were 15 and a half my family moved back to orange county
melissa and i stayed friends over the years
the picture above is from my first trip to visit
when we were newly 21
we picked up right where we left off.

from my trip up over the summer

all glammed up for girls night out
fake eye lashes and kissy red lips

this is how we do

so monday night when i got home from a long hard day at work heading for a nice glass of wine
i came across this on the refrigerator
save the date post card, a little beat up from the mail
but beautiful

so happy for them,
tory is such a catch, they truly love, and compliment each other in so many ways
cant wait to share the big day with both of them!
